Efficient CSV Tamer: to …Yes, I was defending OP's design. It's a few hundred grams of hydrogen per eruption at 500 C, it's not as much heat as it sounds like. By the time it comes into contact with piping and tiles and wires and doors and such, it's well below 200 (more like 100 or so) by the time the pump even touches it.You want to cool it down by 250c to keep steel pump and generator safe, you need to remove 43200 kdtu/cycle. Water has shc of 4.179, so volume * temperature change would be 10337.4, almost leet. Let's say, we send a pee water from dupes, 37c through the vent and it comes out at 95c. We need to send 178.23 kg/cycle.Don't use pwater as it offgasses. Let the liquid run out until the vent is covered by less than 2000g of liquid. Seal the chamber. Turn on the gas pump to run a vacuum. I like using an automation switch for this. At this point your chamber is ready. Any gas you put in will be able to leave the vent as it has less than 2000g of material covering it.Mar 1, 2022 · It's relatively easy to cool the resulting hot oxygen and oxygen from an electrolyzer is always at least 70C anyway. I don't get why the OP has extened the cooling loop. The AT should cool down the turbines only. There's not need to inject more heat, the steam is hot enough. You don't use a CSV build for a (hot) SV. They are two different beasts. The liquid vent activates when the steam pressure goes below 1500, so when the steam vent is inactive there's still some steam for cooling. A couple issues: I had to "prime" the water cooling loop with hot water in order to heat the steam and activate the steam engine, and it might need to be primed again after the vent is dormant. This is incredibly easy to build in survival around an open vent. You just build some of the surrounding box and pump the water from outside into the box then close it up. You don't need to vacuum out the area and you don't need any advanced tech. There are very advanced designs that not only use way less space, but are also able to save power as needed, even while the geyser ...After looking around, I found two colonies with good examples of a Cool Steam Vent tamer with a high-output vent, meaning the Vent produces more than 4kg/sec during the eruption phase. Best Add a Comment theconkerer • 1 min. ago I referenced u/BlakeMW 's Self-Powered Cool Steam Vent Tamer, but noticed that if it were possible to powerlessly store the steam for later processing, the total average output of a cool steam geyser (around 1.5 kg/s) should be able to be covered by the 2 kg/s throughput of a single steam turbine. If there's no steam, no water will replenish the cooling loop. But the temp sensor is in the oil, not in the vacuum, so the aquatuner can continue running regardless of the chamber having steam or not. So if the aquatuner is running and no water is being added to the loop, but the cold sensor can eject water, you could drain the entire loop ...A fresh build (inc Steam Turbine) onto a Hot Polluted Oxygen Vent didn't have any overheating, and the water/metal tiles initial cool temperature made sure the Polluted O2 didn't cause any overheats. You could put a couple of Temp Shift Plates in there to speed the heat transfer as well.I understand now why mathmanican is so obsessed with waterfalls and bead pumps. Maximizes power; the two turbines on the side only activate with 200C steam and the one in the middle only if steam is not too hot or if there is too much steam there. Could adjust depending on how much steam the geyser produces on average.Hydrogen vent taming. This design pumps out 130-140 degree hydrogen. Even if started in a vacuum, it won't overheat. Atmo Sensor (upper left): Above 4000g. Atmo Sensor (below gas pump): Above 1000g. Thermo Sensor: Below 135. Use steel for the Gas Pump. Note: Radiant liquid pipes help cool the steam turbine. 1) Extract heat from magma in a very efficient way. 2) Provides infinite supply of cold igneous rock. 3) Can also be applied for metal volcanoes (although I'm going to make a more optimized and small version for this goal) YouTube™ Video: Oxygen not included - How to build: Magma Volcano Tamer (Revisited) Views: 7,970. Hey everyone!Harvest water from cool steam vents econmically with a gold amalgam aquatuner and a steam turbine. Not mentioned in the video but later in the game super cool...Cool steam vents won’t work with turbines without some external heating (turbines require at least 125 C steam). Surround it in insulation tiles to prevent heat from escaping and use some form of cooling to condense the steam to water. It doesn’t require much cooling, some moderately cold gas being pumped through some radiative pipes will ... Steam Vent Tutorial | Oxygen Not Included. That potentially give you a neverending source of oxygen for your dupes. You could also potentially cool it and use it for other things, but using it hot like this is simpler, I think. #1.Community for the space-colony simulation game Oxygen Not Included, developed by Klei. Only purify dirty water when it is above 1C. Aside from a water sieve you can use a pacu variant (gulp fish). They will clean polluted water for free. In my case I would need a few to keep up with my needs.Hi you lovely people! If you are using water for lice loaf, got your electrolyzers set up early, etc.... you could easily be out of water. Especially if you didn't find it for the first 100-150 cycles. dtylertx • 5 yr. ago. tip: save electricity and water, turn the lice into picked meals.Basic setup. Make sure you have researched steam turbines, thermal regulators, and basic automation. Natural gas will come from the geyser at around 150°C (302°F), which we will cool in 2 stages. Stage 1 will transfer heat from the natural gas chamber to a steam chamber, which powers our steam turbine and converts some heat into power.Mar 1, 2022 · It's relatively easy to cool the resulting hot oxygen and oxygen from an electrolyzer is always at least 70C anyway. Oxygen Not Included [Oxygen Not Included] - General Discussion ; How to ...The liquid vent activates when the steam pressure goes below 1500, so when the steam vent is inactive there's still some steam for cooling. A couple issues: I had to "prime" the water cooling loop with hot water in order to heat the steam and activate the steam engine, and it might need to be primed again after the vent is dormant..
