The Powwow Trail, established under the 1978 Act creating the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, is a lollipop trail with a 3 mile out-and-back stem leading to a 25 mile loop. Construction of the trail began in 1979 and linked former logging roads near Forest Center to about 20 miles of wilderness paths.There is no horsepower limit on the part of the lake outside of the BWCA. The limit is 10 horsepower on the eastern end of the lake that is within the BWCA. The lake has good fishing for lake trout.
